An outlaw crew in front of Pyro's flare star: a captain with a rifle, boarders with loot, the system's debris fields behind them.

Piracy in Star Citizen

Those who want the stars go and take them.

SCDark is the home port for pirates in the verse. Not for people who open fire on a hauler on approach, but for crews that read a route, set a trap and leave with the cargo. English and German, because the verse has no borders.

Why piracy

Star Citizen has dozens of careers. In almost all of them you play against the game. In this one you play against people, and that changes everything.

Snare, 20 kmHauler in quantum travelCrew
A quantum snare pulls everything out of the jump that crosses its bubble: twenty kilometres of radius, a long charge, loud emissions. Then the work begins.

There is a person on the other side.

The miner whose Prospector you catch at the ring has been drilling for two hours. The trader with 96 SCU of Laranite worked out the route himself. Every haul has a story, and the person on the other end tells it in their own Discord. No mission giver writes anything like that.

The game rewards the cargo, not the kill.

A destroyed hauler scatters its freight. Whoever wants it has to stop the ship, board it or negotiate. That makes piracy a team sport: one holds the snare, two cover, one talks. A ransom is often worth more than the fight.

Patience is the weapon.

Experienced crews land three or four good hits in ten to twenty hours. The rest is watching: reading prices at the terminals, finding routes under 200 SCU, sitting on a buy or sell point. If you want quick kills, this is the wrong place.

Grand Barter: a bar of rusted steel and flickering neon inside a Pyro station.

The territory

Pyro was claimed in 2493 by Pyrotechnic Amalgamated for its ore and abandoned in 2563 when the star's flares kept tearing the installations apart. The stations stayed behind. Today the Headhunters, Rough & Ready, the Fire Rats and the 73R Vipers share the system, and no authority objects.

Refinery in the mine: glowing metal runs from the furnace into the moulds.

The price

We will not sell you this as a walk in the park.

CrimeStat

From level three the system puts a bounty on you, and other players collect it legally. Major ports refuse landing, station turrets open fire on approach.

Klescher

Die or surrender with a CrimeStat and you wake up in the prison on Aberdeen, to sit out the sentence or mine it down in the tunnels. Everyone in this crew has been there.

The Code

Three rules. Keep them and you fly with us. Break them and you walk the airlock.

Loot is shared.
What a crew takes together belongs to the crew. Shares are settled before the jump, not after.
No treason aboard.
We board strangers, not each other. Whoever betrays their own crew has no place left in the SCDark.
Game, not hate.
We are pirates in the game. Outside of it, respect applies to everyone. Insults, hate speech and griefing outside the rules of the game are off limits.

The course

What is being built here, in the order it arrives.

  1. Sign-on and logbook aboard

Login via Discord, your logbook with handle and display name, language of your choice.

  2. Bounty board in progress

Who is wanted, what it pays, who collected. Kept by the crew, visible to the crew.

  3. Loot ledger planned

Every raid with cargo, shares and participants. So nobody argues afterwards about who gets what.

  4. Crews planned

Your own crews with ranks, fleet and operations. Many crews, one SCDark.

A dark station corridor, light at the far end.

The crew meets on Discord.

The Discord server opens soon. Until then: read the site, know the code, keep your handle ready.
